Coronation Street stars are threatening to strike due to planned wage cuts.
Veterans like Barbara Knox, who plays Rita Sullivan, and Bill Roache, who plays Ken Barlow, have discovered that their pay could be cut by up to 30% under new contracts.
Actors from the soap will meet representatives of their union, Equity, on Thursday.
Andy Prodger, Equity's films, TV and radio expert said, "We don't want to contemplate there being the need for industrial action. But you can never rule anything out."
