Bardot convicted of inciting racial hatred

A French appeals court has upheld a conviction against actress Brigitte Bardot for inciting racial hatred.

Bardot was convicted after writing an article criticising the number of Muslim immigrants in France.

In her ‘Open letter to my lost France’, the actress attacked Islamic ritual slaughtering and the growing number of mosques.

She has been ordered to pay a fine of 30,000 francs.
