Negotiators for Hollywood screenwriters and studios have reached agreement on a new three-year contract, avoiding a strike that could have cost the entertainment industry hundreds of millions of dollars.
Following months of talks, the studios and the writers' negotiating committee unanimously supported the agreement.
The 11,500 members of the Writers' Guild are expected to vote to approve the new contract.
