With one day of negotiations to go, Hollywood writers and producers continued their down-to-the-wire talks as they try to beat a looming strike deadline of eight o clock tomorrow morning Irish time.
Last week the Los Angeles Mayor released a study showing that 185,000 people, or five percent of the city's workforce, earn their livelihoods directly from the area's massive entertainment industry and that a prolonged strike could push the entire region into recession.
Both sides in the dispute are trying to write a happy ending and avoid a strike that could bring the curtain down on movie and television productions all over town.
