Hollywood strike would cause recession - report

A new economic study has found that a prolonged Hollywood strike would cost up to $ 6.9 billion, pushing the region into recession. According to the study, which was commissioned by Hollywood Mayor Richard Riordan, the city's unemployment rate would jump by over two percent if a strike takes place in the TV and film industries. Representatives of the Writers Guild of America and producers are trying to work out a new deal before the WGA contract expires at the beginning of next month.
