The Richard Wagner Foundation will today decide who should run one of Germany's best-known music festivals. The Richard Wagner Festival in Bayreuth has long been the subject of a bitter feud. And the feud looks set to continue as long as the current incumbent, the composer's 81-year-old grandson Wolfgang, refuses to step down. He can hold the board in stalemate indefinitely, because of the lifetime director status he received in 1951.
