U2 won in three categories of the Meteor Ireland Music Awards which were presented at a ceremony at the Point Theatre in Dublin last night. The group won Best Irish Band, Bestselling Irish Rock Album and Best Irish Songwriter awards. Christy Moore was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award while Relish took home the Hope For 2001 Award. Other awards included Best Selling Pop Album which went to Westlife; JJ72 were named as Best Irish newcomers.
