Meath County Council says that it has not yet received a planning application for a second U2 concert at Slane, after the first concert sold out in minutes. Environment Minister Noel Dempsey has so far refused to get involved, even though Bono appealed to the Government to give way. Slane Castle owner Henry Mountcharles said that the law on permits had to be changed. However, in Slane there is mixed reaction to the prospect of a second concert: business people say that it would generate huge revenue, but local householders are not in favour.
