IMPAC shortlist announced

A shortlist of six books has been announced for the IMPAC Dublin Literary award. The award offers the world's richest literary prize for a single work of fiction with the winner receiving £100,000. Irish novelist Colm Toibin has been nominated for his book 'The Blackwater Lightship'. Other nominees include Andrew O'Hagan for 'Our Fathers', Margaret Cezair-Thompson for 'The True History of Paradise', and Alistair Macleod for 'No Great Mischief'. Two translations also made it to the last six. Victor Pelevin, for 'The Clay Machine Gun' and Silvia Molina with 'The Love You Promised Me'. If successful the translator with receive a quarter of the prizemoney.
