'Rebel Heart' director wins in Monte Carlo

The controversial television drama 'Rebel Heart', a joint production by RTÉ and the BBC, has landed its director a top international award. John Strickland's work on the drama brought him the coveted Nymphe D'Or Award for Best Director at the Monte Carlo Television Festival. The four-part series 'Rebel Heart' was set in the years 1916 to 1922 covering the lead up to Irish Independence. Accepting the award, Mr Strickland paid tribute to scriptwriter Ronan Bennett and actors James D'Arcy and Paloma Baeza.
