Melba Toast

Toast the bread slices in the usual way, the place each slice on a bread board and cut in half, horizontally, using a sawing motion with a sharp knife. Watch your fingers! Heat the oven to 200C, (400F, gas 6). Place the toast halves, uncooked sides upwards, on a baking sheet and bake for about 7 - 10 minutes until the toast is brown and curling up at the edges. Cool before eating.
