Chinese sculptor Chen Zhen dies

Chinese-born sculptor Chen Zhen has died. He was 45. Zhen, whose work featured in solo and group exhibitions around the world, was born in Shanghai where he met his wife while studying art. He spent three years drawing portraits on the streets of Paris before his first one-man show in 1990. Zhen then began to concentrate on sculpture, winning many awards including one from the Annie Wang Foundation for Art and the Pollack-Krasner Foundation in New York. He died on December 13 and is survived by his wife and 14-year-old son.
