Actor and comic Steve Martin will be master of ceremonies at next year's Oscar awards. Martin will replace actor Billy Crystal at the 73rd Academy Awards. Although Martin has presented individual awards seven times, and wrote and starred in an Oscar-nominated short film, he has never been nominated as an actor or performer. The Oscar nominations will be announced on 13 February and the Academy Award ceremony will be held on 25 March in Los Angeles.
