British designer Alexander McQueen has struck a deal with Italian fashion giant Gucci Group to develop his London-based label. The enfant terrible of the fashion world has sold 51% of his business to the Florentine firm while retaining the balance himself. McQueen has also signed a long-term agreement to act as the enterprise's creative director with immediate effect, although he will carry on with his work at Paris fashion house Givenchy until his contract expires next October.
