This year's Museum of the Year Award has been won by the Chester Beatty Library in Dublin. There were three other entries for the £2,500 prize money - Clare Museum in Ennis, the County Museum in Dundalk, and Ross Castle in Killarney. The award is funded by the Gulbenkian Foundation in London and Kilkenny's Heritage Council. The Chester Beatty Library moved from Ballsbridge to its new site in Dublin Castle in February of this year. Today's award citation congratulated the library for a series of modern, varied, well-lit and beautifully presented displays.
