David Byrne is one of the most original musicians working today. As the lead singer and creative driver of "Talking Heads’, Byrne defined a new kind of art pop as epitomized in the concert film ‘Stop Making Sense’.

In 2004, he had released his third solo album, ‘Grown Backwards’. Rattlebag travelled west to the Galway International Arts Festival to talk pop, punk and opera with David Byrne.
