The Playboy of the Western World – A Musical for Radio with all music newly composed by Justin McCarthy and adapted for radio by Diarmuid de Faoite. The production brings the listener on a journey into the ‘wild west’ of Ireland where a community, whose suffocating existence is injected with fantasy and excitement with the arrival of Christy Mahon who confesses to all that he’s on the run for ‘killing his da’ .

The Narrator was Jonathan Ryan
Christy Mahon was played by Stephen Jones and Pegeen Mike was played by Aoibhinn McGinnity.
The Widow Quinn was Helen Gregg
Michael James Flaherty was played by Fred McCloskey, Old Mahon by Frank O’Sullivan and Shawn Keogh by Joe Hanley.
Jimmy Farrell was performed by Diarmuid de Faoite, and Philly O’ Cullen by Aonghus Óg MacAnally.
