This Sunday on The Poetry Programme on RTÉ Radio One, Olivia O'Leary chats to Lynda Tavakoli and Mícheál McCann about their inspirations. Listen to some preview clips below...
Lynda Tavakoli divides her time between Northern Ireland and Oman, where her Persian husband works.

She has been a winner of both poetry and short story prizes and has just published her first poetry collection, The Boiling Point for Jam (Arlen House). She talks with Olivia about her experiences in the Middle East and reads poems they have inspired, and also about her family's experience of dementia.

Mícheál McCann is from Derry and is working on a PhD on Aids writing and optimism. He won the inaugural Ireland Chair of Poetry Student Prize in 2019 and is a co-editor of the commemorative anthology Hold Open The Door. Being from a musical family, and a musical city, music inevitably features in his poetry, and he joins Olivia to read from his debut pamphlet, Safe Home (Green Bottle Press).
