Reviewed: Balcony in the Forest by Julien Gracq
Julien Gracq (1910-2007) was the pseudonym of Louis Poirier whose first novel, Au Chateau d'Argol was dubbed the first surrealist novel. Balcony in the Forest, his final novel, published in 1958 is poetic rather than surrealist.
