FILM: AMÉILE

Jean-Pierre Jeunet's wonderfully quirky and irresistibly enchanting French charmer returns to cinemas for its 25th anniversary, and the years have been very kind. After a lonely childhood, the adult Amélie (an adorable Audrey Tautou) devises elaborate, secret stratagems for bringing happiness to those around her. In the process, she finds that there may be a chance at happiness for her too, with Nino (Mathieu Kassovitz). Jeunet's Paris is probably the most fairytale-perfect depiction of the city ever committed to celluloid, and the film remains as heartwarming as ever (Selected cinemas nationwide)

MUSIC: DERMOT KENNEDY

The Weight of the Woods is Dermot Kennedy's third studio album. Recorded between Ireland and Nashville with producer Gabe Simon, Dermot describes the new record as "a beautiful homegrown thing with Irish instruments and an Irish story". It contains the singles (all instant sing-along classics) Funeral, Refuge and Honest, and should further cement his status as an Irish music superstar-in-the-making. He's only getting started, too - in May and June, he'll embark on his biggest European tour to date, finishing with two headline shows at Dublin's Aviva Stadium this July (Now streaming)

BOOK: EVERYTHING THAT IS BEAUTIFUL

For Niamh Ryan, the Foleys are family. Her childhood flew by on their farm, playing with her best friend Peter and his sister Kate—while being doted on by their mother Helen and coached by their father Liam, a legendary former hurling player. Years later, following a distressing series of events, those ties are strained. As a family wedding looms, Niamh, Helen, and Kate find themselves face to face once again—and the knotty love that has bound them might just bring them back together again. Snowflake author Louise Nealon returns with a luminous portrait of two Irish families riven by one great secret, a tale of love and family, heartbreak and hope - and who we might become after we pick up the pieces (Bonnier, out now)
