Man on the Run - does the new Paul McCartney doc have Wings?

The Beatles achieved every creative and professional permutation imaginable in their relatively short time together. And by the time it was all over in 1970, each of the Fab Four was spent, from the bloated business issues of Apple Corp to the sheer mental overload of what they had all just survived.

Paul McCartney went back to basics, living on the Mull of Kintyre with his wife Linda, bringing up their children, and forming a new band called Wings. They went back on the road, calling into students' unions to perform, and building up again from a new set of foundations.

A new documentary on Amazon Prime, Man on the Run, takes a deep dive into that era in the company of Macca himself. Pat Carty reviews for RTÉ Arena - listen above.
