A Booker Prize winner in 2017 with Lincoln in the Bardo, U.S. author George Saunders has won awards for his novels, short stories and nonfiction.
He is, however, the only Booker Prize winner to achieve a degree in Geophysics and work as a prospector in Sumatra, a doorman in Beverly Hills and teach creative writing at Syracuse University.
George has just published a new novel Vigil, in which a kind of angel, Jill 'Doll' Blaine, crash lands on earth in pursuit of Ken J Boone, an oil tycoon who may be dying but believes he has nothing to regret!
