The Mastermind is set in a sedate corner of Massachusetts circa 1970: JB Mooney (O'Connor) is an unemployed carpenter turned amateur art thief, planning his first big heist.
When things go haywire, his life unravels...
For British actor O'Connor, its the latest in a series of intruiging star turns, after acclaimed roles in Challengers and La Chimera; next up, he stars alongside Daniel Craig in the new Knives Out movie, romances Paul Mescal in The History Of Sound - and takes the lead in Steven Spielberg's forthcoming untitled sci-fi epic.
