The ninth annual Disappear Here Film Festival returns to Ballyliffin, Co. Donegal, from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th October 2025, showcasing new Irish work alongside world cinema
Over the three-day event, the festival will screen more than 80 films, host workshops, masterclasses, and feature post-screening discussions with filmmakers and industry professionals.
The festival opens with the Donegal premiere of the Irish-language heist thriller Aontas, directed by Damian McCann and starring Carrie Crowley, Bríd Brennan, and Eva-Jane Gaffney.
A Q&A with co-writer Sarah Gordon and actor Art Parkinson will follow the screening.

Saturday's feature film is Brendan Canty's acclaimed debut feature Christy, which premiered at the 75th Berlinale, where it won the Generation 14+ Grand Prix.
Sunday night's closing film is another new Irish debut feature, Solitary by Eamonn Murphy, with the director in attendance for a post-screening discussion.
A new addition to the programme is a Festival Overture, featuring the music documentary Focla ar Chanbhás/Words on Canvas, focusing on singer/songwriter David Keenan. Director Paddy Hayes will attend a Q&A session.
The festival also hosts the world premiere of the first episode of the new season of the acclaimed RTÉ series Obituary, filmed in Donegal.
Documentary highlights include the Gala Screening of The Kildoney Fisherman, and the Palestinian solidarity film The Encampments, both followed by panel discussions.
The Donegal Voices programme on Sunday will showcase seven new short films from the North-West, including Niall Duffy’s Galar, addressing the county's ongoing defective blocks crisis.
Workshops and panels will cover screenwriting, short film production in Donegal, and regional opportunities in film and TV.
