Adele King, best known to generations of Irish audiences as Twink, will return to the panto stage this Christmas season, taking on the role of Queen of the Fairies in the Stadium Panto production of Cinderella.

The show will run from December 9th to January 4th at the National Stadium in Dublin.

King, a long-established legend of Irish theatre and television, confirmed her return after previously declaring she had retired from pantomime.

Speaking about her decision, she said, "Well... it just proves you should never say never, as I really and truly was absolutely set that I would never do a panto again." She added that it took producers Alan Hughes and Karl Broderick some time to convince her, but after attending last year’s performance, she was persuaded.

The upcoming production will feature Twink in a unique way, incorporating pre-recorded footage enhanced with artificial intelligence technology. According to producer and writer Karl Broderick, "With amazing A.I. technology Twink’s role will be truly magical, as she will be filmed in advance, with all the bells and whistles modern technology allows; while always remaining a traditional family panto."

Joining Twink on stage will be Alan Hughes as Sammy Sausages, Rob Murphy as Buffy, and Johnny Ward in a principal role.

Alan Hughes, who began his own panto career alongside Twink, said, "This is very special for me, and a real honour to have Adele in our panto. It’s going to be spectacular."
