STREAMING: THE THURSDAY MURDER CLUB
Based on the bestselling novel by Richard Osman, this is a whodunit with teeth... false ones, of course. Following a group of friends in a retirement home who gather to solve murders for fun but find themselves caught in a real case, the clubmembers include Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley and Celia Imrie, with the likes of Naomi Ackie, Jonathan Pryce, David Tennant and Richard E. Grant in support. Writer and director Chris Columbus previously helmed the first two Harry Potter movies (and the first two Home Alones before that) - with several books in the series, and Steven Speilberg producing, this one is set to run and run. Columbus and Brosnan talk to RTÉ Arena below (Netflix, Now Streaming)

MUSIC: CMAT
It's officially been the summer of CMAT, with Dunboyne's finest stealing the show at the Glastonbury Festival and winning hearts and ears wherever she lands - her eagerly anticipated third long-player Euro Country should officially confirm her status as a (note capitals) National Treasure. Featuring earworms like Running/Planning, Take A Sexy Picture Of Me and The Jamie Oliver Petrol Station, this is the sound of a superstar-in-the-making finding a groove; what's more, with the title track, a stirring reflection on post-Celtic Tiger Ireland, exploring the fallout from the economic boom and subsequent crash, she's got something to say, and then some. Is this the Irish album of the year? (Out Now)

DANCE: A GALWAY TRIPLE BILL
Curated by Galway Dance Artist in Residence Magdalena Hylak, this event showcases three powerful works exploring human connection, impermanence, and the expressive capacity of the body. Venerations is a poetic and interdisciplinary reflection on mortality, inspired by the writings of Emily Dickinson and Samuel Beckett, while in Unreeling, Fearghus Ó Conchúir offers a solo born from isolation, dancing to reveal the invisible threads that connect and sustain us, and in Standing, Hylak and Roberta Ceginskaite engage in an instinctive, wordless duet, inviting audiences into a space where movement transcends technique. Collectively, these performances invite us to witness the quiet negotiations of the body and the profound truths it holds (30th August, Black Box Galway)
