THEATRE: LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS

Meet Seymour, a hapless florist who stumbles upon a mysterious plant with a dark secret - a promise of fame, fortune, and romance, as long as he can keep it well-fed! The Bord Gais Energy Theatre have been bringing us classic musicals for years; now they bring us their first in-house production, a welcome revival of Howard Ashman and Alan Menken's delightfully dark fusion of comedy, horror, and rock 'n' roll, with a cast showcasing a host of rising Irish talent - the stars dropped by The Olver Callan Show for a chat below (Bord Gais Energy Theatre, Dublin, July 25th - August 8th)

DANCE: I'D LIKE TO GET TO KNOW YOU

At the heart of all of Phillip Connaughton's choreography—whether explicit or understated—lies a deep thread of isolation. His new piece explores the often-impossible task of bridging the gap between the artist and the outside world. Celebrating the 15th anniversary of the Step Up Dance Project, his new show premieres at Dance Limerick on Wednesday the 30th of July and runs for two more days before moving to Dublin, where the ensemble present a studio performance at DanceHouse on Saturday August 2nd.
