THEATRE: HOTHOUSE
Following their acclaimed Off-Broadway debut, Malaprop Theatre embarks on their first Irish tour with the award-winning show; set on an Arctic cruise ship, this fast-paced, intergenerational tale explores love, loss, and legacy as passengers bid farewell to the melting ice caps. Written by Carys D. BOOKS: GRANARD BOOKTOWN
The inspired book bash returns to the charming Longford town for its third installment, with a formidable line-up that includes literary legends Claire Keegan, John Banville and Liz Nugent alongside crusading journalist Carole Cadwalladr and the cream of Ireland's current crop of writing talent. It's a small, perfectly formed gem of a festival, offering a vibrant celebration of Ireland’s literary talent and creative spirit (Various venues, Granard Co. Longford, April 11th - 13th)
EVENT: OH MY GODOT!
Oh My Godot! (OMG!) is a new event in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland, inspired by Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot and featuring theatrical readings, conversations, and a giant chess game. The festival honors Beckett’s legacy, while exploring the role of cultural heritage in post-conflict recovery. Among other highlights are The Godot Boys, focusing on the effect of playing 'the boy' in Godot. Former child actor Daniel Figgis (‘the boy’ alongside Peter O'Toole and Donal McCann in 1969), will be joined by two boys from later presentations of the play.
