There is something very special about Parisian light. On the day I met her, a late spring sun had just cleared the rooftops opposite Marianne Faithful's apartment.
It shone a spotlight on both her, and the chair on which she sat. Her endless cigarette smoke drifted upwards and made a halo above her head...
