FILM: BRIDGET JONES: MAD ABOUT THE BOY
Can it really be 24 years since the release of the original Bridget Jones' Diary? Renée Zellweger returns for the latest installment of Bridget's adventures; this time out she's a single mother in a state of emotional limbo, forging a new path toward life and love - longtime BG fans will be relieved to know that Hugh Grant's rogue Daniel Cleaver returns to steal scenes, as ever (Cinemas nationwide)
TV: THE WHITE LOTUS
The action moves to Thailand for the eagerly anticipated third season of writer/director Mike White's acclaimed HBO black comedy, with an ensemble cast that this time out includes Walton Goggins, Parker Posey, Carrie Coon, Jason Issacs, season one returnee Natasha Rothwell and Lisa from South Korean girl group Blackpink - plot details remain scarce, but the basic setup remains the same, following the interactions of various guests and employees at the eponymous luxury resort over one highly transformative week (Sky & NOW TV, from Monday February 17th)
MUSIC: ADRIAN CROWLEY
Measure Of Joy is the latest album from the Irish singer-songwriter, much-loved for his dark and brooding vignettes of life, love and the tiny epiphanies of daily existence, delivered as ever with a wry twinkle and a gravelly baritone that holds its own with late period Leonard Cohen; produced by PJ Harvey cohort John Parish, it's a delight from start to finish - is that a Bossanova element we detect? THEATRE: SCENE + HEARD
The 9th edition of the essential showcase for new work returns with the theme of stargazing and a wildly eclectic programme that promises (deep breath) music, myths, witches, sieges, dead monks, theology, philosophy, ancient gods, aerobics and acrobatics, love, loss, longing, feral women, quiet men, gleeks, freaks, catfishers, starchasers, synesthesia, sims, showponies and sheep! One to watch is Tríona Ní Dhuibhir's new show Beautiful Broken Things, running on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd Feb - take a deeper dive into this year's programme here (Smock Alley, Dublin, until March 1st)
