On moving day, my husband and I meet the estate agent at our new address, to be greeted by a helium balloon from the previous owners tied to the banister. Congratulations! It declares enthusiastically; the blue and pink design indicating it had been intended for another purpose.
The estate agent hovers in the living room whilst we walk around the property checking for what we aren't quite sure. Has the damp in the corner of the bedroom always been there? Why is there condensation in the windows of conservatory? I look at my husband, a familiar look of panic in both our faces...
