The Apprentice is a movie that has taken some time to find an American distributor.
It is a biographical drama that examines Donald Trump's early career as a real estate businessman in New York in the 1970’s and 80’s.
It centres on the relationship between Trump and the right-wing lawyer and political fixer Roy Cohn, who took the young Trump under his wing and mentored him.
While The Apprentice is not a documentary, the writer Gabriel Sherman based his story entirely on actual events he could prove happened.
The film was directed by Ali Abbasi and stars Sebastian Stan as Trump, and Succession's Jeremy Strong as Cohn. Sebastian and Jeremy talked to Sean Rocks for RTÉ Arena - listen above.
