President Michael D Higgins reads Stardust for Sunday Miscellany

"I've always liked the pace of Sunday Miscellany. It's quite intergenerational, and represents a truthful tribute to memory, and sense of place." -- Michael D Higgins, President of Ireland.

Sunday Miscellany was honoured to be invited to provide the Culture Night entertainment at Áras an Uachtaráin, in an event hosted by President Higgins and Sabina Higgins - listen above.

The first installment featured Manchán Magan, Cormac Begley, Tim Carey, Dónal Clancy and Aine McHugh, Mia Döring, Niwel Tsumbu and Éamonn Cagney, Rita Ann Higgins, Donal Ryan and Clare Sands, before finishing with a reading from the President himself: Stardust, a poem by Michael D Higgins - listen to the show in full here.

And there'll be more to follow on next week's programme, from writers Nell Regan, Aingeala Flannery and Séamus Barra Ó Súilleabháin.
