RTÉ brings Culture Night 2024 to RTÉ One on September 20th with a joyful celebration of our cultural landscape.
RTÉ Choice Music Prize winner Denise Chaila anchors RTÉ One's one-hour Culture Night special from The Round Room in Dublin's Mansion House, heading a line-up of exceptional musical performances which includes David Gray making a memorable musical voyage to Sceilg Mhichíl in the company of his longtime friend Colm Mac Con Iomaire.
It's a trip that the much-loved singer-songwriter has dreamed about for decades, to a mystical place that has loomed so large in his musical imagination that he named his last album after the island and painted it for the album cover. "It was nothing short of magical to be there", said David after his trip to the iconic island, located off the Kerry coast and memorably captured for RTÉ's Culture Night event.

Also featured are Leitrim's Edwina Guckian and adopted sons Mohammad Syfkhan and Ultan O'Brien, providing a lively soundtrack for dancing at the crossroads in Effrinagh.
Then there's a celebration of punk from Derry, hair-raising aerial circus mastery from Ballydehob in West Cork and a treetop display of street dancing from Avondale in Wicklow.

All of this is interspersed with a series of orchestral explorations with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, helmed by conductor David Brophy with special guest vocalists Conor O'Brien (Villagers), Niamh Regan, New Jackson and Joe Chester with Gemma Hayes.
Celebrating culture, creativity, and the arts, the 19th edition of Culture Night will take place nationwide on Friday, September 20th - find out more here.
