This Friday marks not only the season finale of the National Symphony Orchestra, but also after five memorable years Jaimé Martín's final performance as their esteemed chief conductor.
They will be marking the occasion with a performance of Verdi's Requiem, performed by the NSO and chorus, along with a quartet of star soloists including soprano Miah Persson, mezzo-soprano Jennifer Johnston, tenor Valentyn Dytiuk, and bass Evgeny Stavinsky.

With an operatic intensity, Verdi’s Requim is said to thrill audiences in its contrasts between hushed prayers of repentant sinners, ecstatic dancing angels, and a terror-inducing depiction of the Day of Judgement.
