It’s 60 years since the Beatles got together with director Richard Lester to make their first film.
A Hard Day’s Night spans 36 hours in the life of the Fab Four, or a version of them, as they make their way by train to a studio for a live TV performance - interacting with the public and the press along the way, and trying to keep a character known as Paul McCartney’s Irish granddad out of trouble!
It’s a witty showcase for four very individual personalities, as well as The Beatles as a tightknit gang, and features an extraordinary soundtrack!
Beatles historian Mark Lewisohn joined Sean to talk about the film for RTÉ Arena - listen above.
