Amy moved in at the start of the year. She was dark, petite, and very pretty. For the first while our only significant interaction was her hissing furiously at me from the shadows at the top of the stairs. Which gave me quite a start, last thing at night.
The rest of the time she spent hiding under the new lodgers' bed. After while I asked Mariana, the lodger, what was the story with the cat.
