Twig: Marian Quinn on her Dublin Film Festival opener

Over the past two decades the Dublin International Film Festival has become Ireland's premier film event, screening more than 1,600 international films from over 52 countries.

It has also hosted many distinguished guests from the likes of Al Pacino to Daniel Day-Lewis. This year’s guests include Isabelle Huppert, Steve McQueen, Jared Harris, Kevin Macdonald and Maxine Peake.

The festival returns this week, running from February 22nd to March 2nd - it opens with Twig, a reimagining of the Greek tragedy Antigone, set in Dublin’s modern gangland and featuring rising star Sade Malone.
