THEATRE: KRAPPS LAST TAPE

What better way to kick off your cultural new year than with a Major Theatrical Event? Landmark Productions celebrate their 20th anniversary with the incomparable Stephen Rea starring in a new production of Samuel Beckett's masterpiece, directed by Vicky Featherstone (Project Arts Centre, Dublin, from 11th Jan - 3rd Feb)

CINEMAS: THE BOY AND THE HERON

If you hurry to your local cinema, you can still catch the latest animated masterpiece from legendary Japanese director Hayao Miyazaki, the Oscar-winning creator of Spirited Away, who returned from retirement to create this moving tale of love and love. It's one for the ages (Selected cinemas nationwide)

TV: SINÉAD

Christy Moore, David Holmes, Imelda May, Don Letts and BP Fallon are among those adding their thoughts to this documentary celebrating the late, great Sinéad O'Connor, which celebrates her life and art via a wealth of archive footage (RTÉ One, Monday, January 8 at 9.35pm - catch up afterwards via RTÉ Player)

MUSIC: DOUBLE YOU

Welsh harpist Catrin Finch and traditional and classical violinist Aoife Ní Bhriain first collaborated at an Other Voices session; their remarkable debut album, drawing inspiration from various genres, takes listeners on a musical journey inspired by the cultures of their respective home countries (Now Streaming)
