"At 7.30am on Christmas morning 1961, Dada roused my five older sisters. "Look at what Santa Claus brought us during the night", he said, as he led the girls into his room. Mama was sitting up in the bed cradling a newborn baby. They were jumping with excitement as each in turn was allowed to view their newest sister – a tightly wrapped bundle swaddled in a yellow baby blanket.
Soon it was time to go to mass. In their freshly polished shoes with knee high white socks and wearing red woollen winter coats, they skipped all the way to Chapel Street, knowing that they'd received the most special present in Castlebar that day...."
