The popular RTÉ Radio 1 series The County Measure visits Co. Longford this October Bank Holiday weekend - listen above.
Join writer and broadcaster Vincent Woods as he uncovers the vibrant arts, sports, history, heritage and diverse communities of Co. Longford.
From blooming biodiversity in Ardagh, a sensational samba band at Halloween, to the ancient routes of our ancestors, Vincent takes a measure of all that 'the county of the slashers' has to offer.

Ríl Óg, the acclaimed traditional band from Lanesborough and Edgeworthstown, will unveil new and exclusive music on the programme. Fresh from performing at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, the band previously won the Longford Leader's "Longford's Next Superstar" prize.

The programme will also feature an original piece of writing from Ballymahon writer Adrian Duncan, author of Little Republics: The Story of Bungalow Bliss.
The County Measure is a landmark RTÉ Radio 1 series that explores the identity and communities of Ireland's 32 counties.
