The story revolves around a married couple, played by Ronan and Mescal, who lead an isolated life on a remote farm. But their quiet life is thrown into turmoil when an uninvited stranger shows up at their door with a startling proposal.

The movie is based on Iain Reid's best-selling novel and directed by Garth Davis, known for his work on films like Lion and Mary Magdalene.
