RTÉ 2FM DJ Beta Da Silva's Ones To Watch is a weekly list comprised of three Irish acts that are sure to be a force to be reckoned with in the future of Irish music.
The list features homegrown acts from across Ireland who represent different genres and sounds that are up for discovery and enjoyment.
This week's Ones to Watch:
QBANAA
Qbanaa is a Cuban-Irish singer with so many layers, not only in her music but her live performances too. Her music is full of life and vibrancy with a hint of Jazz & Soul that echoes the early sounds of Erykah Badu and Amy Winehouse.
Her song Shrink has proven to be a standout of the year and she's added another gem to her discography with her new single Mundo En Mis Manos/ World in My Hands.
Qbanaa will be a supporting act on Mahalia's In Real Life tour - catch her live in Vicar St. on Friday, October 13th.
NEALO
Coming from a hardcore punk background, it's almost hard to imagine that Nealo would soon become one of Irelands biggest names in hip-hop.
His debut album All the Leaves Are Falling was released in October 2020.
Nealo returned earlier this year with the honest & emotional track Forest, alongside Morgana. Tears You Cry with Jehnova followed, and he just dropped his new single, Only Human.
Nealo’s sophomore album November Medicine is set to be released on November 17th.
HXNEY
Coming from Drogheda, Co. Louth, Irish-Nigerian singer Hxney immersed herself in the world of pop & RnB and the hard work she’s put in has paid off.
Her 2023 kicked off with Sweet Spot and with the help of Solow The Astronaut, the song encapsulates her early influences in music, with her own distinctive style of delivery and storytelling.
Now Hxney is back again, with her new single Happy Ending.
Listen to The New Music Show with Beta Da Silva on RTÉ 2FM every Sunday from 8pm - 10pm, and Mondays-Thursdays from 7pm - 9pm - listen back here.
