Beta Da Silva's Ones to Watch is a weekly list comprised of three Irish acts that are sure to be a force to be reckoned with in the future of Irish music.

No genre is spared as the list features homegrown acts from across Ireland who represent different genres and sounds that are up for discovery and enjoyment.

This week's Ones to Watch:

Melina Malone

Melina Malone is an Irish-Greek R&B singer who is currently flying the flag for R&B music in Ireland; her sultry vocals evoke emotion that leaves you sitting there pondering on the concept of love and affection.

She has three singles to her name in 2023, including her recent single Naive - to add to the excitement, her debut album Aphrodite is due to be released on October 6th.

Offica

Offica is an Irish-Nigerian Drill rapper based in Drogheda, Co. Louth who is best known for his 2019 breakout single Skiddibop featuring Sizzler. Since then he’s been active in the hip-hop space in Ireland, becoming one of the more prominent names in Irish rap, further cementing that promise via collaborations alongside his collective A92.

Offica made his return musically in 2023 with his singles Dedication and Living Proof, both songs demonstrating his storytelling ability. His current single Stick to the Plan is a more boastful tune that exudes confidence, and you can listen to more on his upcoming mixtape Hokage, due to drop in October.

Annika Kilkenny

Annika Kilkenny is an Irish singer/songwriter and - as her last name suggests - is from Co. Kilkenny. Released in early September, her debut single Look Mom, I Made It quickly became a fan favorite; now Annika is stepping out of her comfort zone and is ready to share original music, after making a splash performing acoustic covers of popular songs online. A second single, The Middle, is due this month, along with her debut EP.
