Hurling is a game that is lightning fast, ruthless, and riveting.

Distinctly Irish, it has a long lineage and while the legendary game played by the Fir Bolg and the Tuatha Dé Danann at the battle of Moytura might differ significantly from this afternoon's contest in Croke Park, the fundamentals remain the same: the pucking of a ball with a stick from one end of the field to the other, with the hope of scoring a goal.
