We're left speechless at the profoundly sad passing of one of the truly great voices, and one of the most important Irish cultural figures of the modern age, save to say that Sinéad O'Connor's words and music will live on.

Over the years, Sinéad made many memorable appearance on RTÉ, including a number of iconic Late Late Show appearances - in 2019, she returned to the public eye via an illuminating Late Late chat, and a show-stopping performance of her most iconic hit that reminded everyone that nothing compared to Sinéad O'Connor.

Over her many Late Late Show conversations, she never, ever held back when it came to speaking her mind - in 2013, she penned an open letter to Miley Cyrus, warning her of the perils of the music industry.

Back to the Late Late in 2019, where the Irish Chamber Orchestra accompanied her for a unique take on Shane MacGowan's classic Rainy Night In Soho.

In interview that evening, she discussed converted to Islam and her relationship with wearing a hijab.

Over the years, she championed a number of emerging artists, popping up to provide backing vocals to John Grant's track GMF on The Saturday Night Show (Warning: contains language that may offend)

For now, we'll leave you with that voice - that voice - once again from the Late Late, a stunning rendition of one of her most resonant compositions, Thank You For Hearing Me.
