CINEMAS: INDIANA JONES & THE DIAL OF DESTINY

Harrison Ford dons the fedora for one last spin as everyone's favourite adventurer, with Fleabag's Phoebe Waller-Bridge along for the ride; cutting-edge digital de-aging technology means the young Indy makes an appearance, while 80-year old Ford still makes for a convincing action hero. The incomparable Mads Mikkelsen is the bad guy, and as for the plot, well, you'll be glad to know that there are no aliens involved this time (Cinemas nationwide)

EVENT: KALEIDOSCOPE

Nile Rodgers & Chic, Gavin James, B*witched and Jerry Fish headline this fun family-focused music and arts festival at Blessington's Russborough House, a three-day carnival of colour that includes everything from wellness and educational programmes and a Cartoon Marathon to a funfair, the Scumdiddlyumptious Festival of Food and the world's largest bouncy castle! (June 30th - July 2nd, Russborough House, Blessington, Co Wicklow)

DANCE: IRISH YOUTH DANCE FESTIVAL

Now in its 22nd year, this weekend long celebration of vibrant and diverse youth dance companies from across Ireland and Europe provides a unique and invaluable showcase for emerging talent. The festival brings together young dancers aged 12 to 25 with both established and emerging dance practitioners, with local youth dance companies from across Ireland, professional dancers and choreographers participating - international guests include the National Youth Dance Company of Scotland (July 1st and 2nd, Pavilion Theatre, Dún Laoghaire)

VISUAL ARTS: EAMON COLMAN

Twenty Eight Acres is an exhibition of new works on paper by Kilkenny-based visual artist Eamon Colman at the Butler Gallery. Colman has spent many years walking the length and breadth of the Twenty Eight Acres, a site located along the Castlecomer Plateaux in north County Kilkenny that has, over three centuries, transformed itself from a coal mining region into a meadow that is infused with wildflowers. These walks inform his practice, describing himself as a landscape painter who captures not what he sees, but what he feels within the landscape (Butler Gallery, Kilkenny until July 23rd)

THEATRE: FUN HOME

After the sudden death of her father, graphic novelist Alison is forced to confront long-hidden familial secrets that come to light... Winner of five Tony Awards including Best Musical and Best Original Score, Róisín McBrinn directs the eagerly anticipated Irish premiere of this acclaimed show, based on Alison Bechdel's autobiographical tale, with a killer cast that includes Killian Donnelly, Frances McNamee and Nichola MacEvilly (Gate Theatre, Dublin, 1st July - 26th August)
