Since her emergence as part of the 'Mumblecore' film movement, Gerwig made a splash as a writer and performer before winning acclaim as a director with a pair of back-to-back Oscar nominees for Best Picture: coming-of-age tale Lady Bird and her adaptation of Louisa May Alcott's Little Women. Now, with Barbie, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, she's tackling her biggest project to date.
