One of the most infamous productions in Hollywood history, the 1963 production of Cleopatra starred Elizabeth Taylor as the Egyptian queen, and Richard Burton as her lover Mark Antony - the duo consciously coupled in real life on the production.
The most expensive movie ever made at the time, Taylor was paid a record breaking $1M for her role, while the chaotic production nearly bankrupted studio 20th Century Fox.
