FILM: FELLINI AT THE IFI

The Irish Film Institute celebrates one of the true masters of cinema, Italian maestro Federico Fellini, by offering audiences the welcome opportunities to experience twelve of his classic films on the big screen, including masterpieces like La Dolce Vita, La Strada, 8 ½ and City of Women (IFI Dublin, from April 4th - 30th)

STREAMING: BEEF

A road rage incident between two strangers — a failing contractor (Stephen Yeun) and an unfulfilled entrepreneur (Ali Wong) — sparks a feud that brings out their darkest impulses in this pitch-black dramedy mini-series from Oscar-winners A24. (Netflix, from April 6th)

BOOK: SHY

A new book from Max Porter, the author of Grief Is the Thing with Feathers and Lanny is always welcome - this short novel presents a vignette of a troubled young boy caught between the ghosts of his past and the enormous questions about his future (Faber, April 6th)

MUSIC: ST. JOHN PASSION

Bach's St John Passion is one of the most moving, sublime and towering creations in all music: an intensely dramatic, devotional masterpiece for all faiths and none. On Good Friday, the National Symphony Orchestra present this monumental work in all its glory (NCH, Dublin, April 7th)

EVENT: AFTER LOVE

Premiered at the Galway International Arts Festival in 2021, After Love is a powerful exploration of love and loss. Based on a debut poetry collection by Dani Gill, and performed and choreographed by Stephanie Dufresne and Lewis Wilkins, the show blends dance, physical theatre, music and poetry to explore the end of a relationship (Town Hall Theatre, Galway, April 1st)
